About Becky Maze, RYT 500

IMG_3851Becky completed her 200 hour Iyengar Yoga training with Cindy Dollar of Ashville, NC.  Iyengar training instills strong emphasis on breath and alignment as you develop strength, mobility and stability through the asanas or postures.  She later went on to study with Kristine Weber of Asheville the Subtle Yoga technique completing her 500 hour training.   Subtle yoga incorporates mindful movements with breath awareness,  increasing mind-body awareness, reaching into the health community for prevention, treatment, and as a recovery aid through all aspects of life trauma or illnesses.  She updates through continuing education–as yoga is a practice, a journey as our bodies grow, age and change.   She particularly has a love for a slow, mindful practice, incorporating props to challenge body awareness.  The wheel is a fun,  body opening prop. The ropes wall is a great tool for finding leverage and proprioception.

Becky has a B.S. in Health Education, and has been a dental hygienist for many years.  The physical positioning that career has her in daily is one thing that lead her to yoga.  She also had a severe health issue that lead to several intestinal surgeries.  At age 21 her life changed dramatically after a surgery when she left this world and was brought back. “When you come back from light to this world again, you realize there must be a purpose for it.”

Becky also holds a Yoga Nidra Certification and Master Reiki Certification.
